TRAINER

Kyle was born on the North Shore of Lake Superior. He spent his childhood hunting, fishing, and trapping with his father. Kyle has a great passion for working with bird dogs and their owners. He has learned from some of the best trainers in the country, including the legendary Rick Smith. His training style is very practical, and stems from time spent hunting with his dogs. Kyle enjoys all things bird dogs, and is always happy to help owners in any way he can.

TRAINER

Jason grew up in the Northwoods near Lake Superior where he spent most of his free time outdoors. His passion for the outdoors led him to pursuing bird hunting, both upland and water fowl. This opened up many opportunities to explore new areas of wilderness and is ultimately where his love for dogs was born. Dogs added a special element to the these outings and enhanced the overall experience. Jason has attended various Rick Smith seminars, and owes most of his knowledge to Rick and those who work closely with him. These seminars were the first time his eyes were opened to the relationship you can have with your dog and how incredible and intelligent they really are. One of Jasons, and the Wild North teams, goals is to see every dog succeed in every situation. Whether in the field or around the home. Jason enjoys helping owners better communicate with their dog to improve the quality of life for them and everyone around them.

KENNEL MANAGER

Brittany adopted her first ever dog with Kyle just before graduating nursing school in 2017. It didn’t take long for her to transfer her passion of taking care of others to taking care of dogs and their human companions. Brittany specializes in making sure every dog is loved, cared for and comfortable in their unfamiliar environment and their owners feel at ease. She can often be found giving extra snuggles, pets and kisses to her new four legged friends.

Rusty is truly the dog that started it all. When welcomed to the family in 2017, Kyle and Brittany had no idea that this sweet Yellow Labrador Retriever would take them on the incredible journey that is dog training. Whether he is sitting in a duck blind, flushing pheasants in the field or honoring points in the grouse woods, Rusty can do it all. When not tearing it up in the woods you can expect to find Rusty cuddling up to his favorite humans or lying next to a warm fire.

Tigger is a fun loving German Shorthaired Pointer whose goal in life is to find every bird on the ground. Trigger joined the family in 2020 as Kyle and Brittany’s first pointing dog. He has taught them a lot about bird cover, how to hunt multiple dogs on the ground at a time, and of course… pointing breeds! Trigger is a hard working boy who loves to hunt. Trigger is as enjoyable around the house as he is in the woods, and spends a majority of his time relaxing by the fire.
